Is running my monitor at a res it doesnt support bad?
I have a samsung lcd that can only support 1280x1040
Therefore I can only 4 table unless I overlap tables However, I can force it to be higher resolutions where I can 9 table, but the screen doesnt look normal ( things stretched or compressed and cant see the whole desktop, taskbar half off screen ). Also, the monitor puts up a warning saying that this mode is not supported, I have to close the warning by pushing a button on the physical monitor. Is running at unsupported resolutions going to really destroy my monitor or is my monitor just a nit? |

I do not believe it does any harm to LCD's, but CRT's over time it can because you are forcing a frequency that is not in the accepted in the range. LCD's are generally locked at 60 or 75Hz no matter what.
