I don't like it because even if he is pushing 22+,A8s+,K9s+,QTs+,JTs,A9o+,KTo+,QJo the call is slightly -ev.

This was a range that I thought was pretty accurate given the table dynamics.

Ok after playing with some numbers the call is fine against a wide range, but you really need a read that he IS pushing that wide range, because although you may have been very actice and he SHOULD be pushing wide, tons of players don't. This reminds me of a point actionjeff made in HSNL a few weeks ago...this is either a spot where he's shoving tons of hands or it isn't, so either the call is mandatory or it's horrible and you can't really justify it vs. a normal pushing range for the average villian. You need to have a good reason to believe he's shoving wide besides the fact that you've been opening a lot to call.

for anyone else that wants to play with pokerstove, you need to be like 41% for the call to be cEV breakeven.

But 36% equity isn't enough here?

If i added right, there's 35455 in the pot and we have to call 24530, or 1.44537:1 odds, so we need 40.8936% equity to breakeven.

Even against a really loose range we don't have enough equity

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

I thought there was the definite added bonus of getting to show down my hand and getting people to stop restealing on me too. It's slightly -cEV given the range that I posted but I did it in the heat of the moment and thought it was fine. Also, it really really really felt like in the moment that he was shoving light.

ActionJeff also once said: "On stars I realized you just have to stop looking for spots to raise and just raise. And then call when they reraise."

Re: A7o from MP deep in the Stars 320

right, against normal push ranges you can't call. against someone who capable of pure resteals though you have to call.
