Anyone use PokerOffice?

I used to use this program to keep track of other players as well as my own play, but I've really found it's a piece of [censored]. Anytime it crashes (which happens often), it takes down whatever poker program I'm running with it. The HUD and Tracker are buggy as hell and a pain to work with, and importing HHs takes a dog's age. Is there anyone here that actually puts up with this program and uses it? Are the other programs out there (PaHUD, etc) any better or worse, and are they worth getting for someone that plays $6.50s going on $16s?

I bought it and I hate it for the reasons you've mentioned

I use it and for me it does the job really well.

I use it for the HUD. Importing your existing HHs SUCKS. But once you get over that hurdle it seems to work pretty well as a HUD. You need lots of memory and processor. And the only thing I run when I use it is PS. Also it hates not being able to see the screen. As long as you can tile everything it should work fine. Also I reboot every few sets.

I haven't had any problems for a while. Doing any queries or anything else with the DB takes forever, but my DB is huge.

I use it and it works great. The replayer alone is worth the price IMO. I hear Pokertracker bogs the [censored] out of everyone I know who uses it. PO doesn't bog me down at all.

Hi Uniqueuponhim,

I have to agree with the last few posters and say this is an excellent product, IMO. The overlay is part of the same program (unlike Tracker, which I like as well, but find a bit less user-friendly) and is easily customizable. The replayer is great as MikeMcQ1 points out, and for speed, have you tried changing your database engine to MySQL?

There are only two issues I have with the program:

1. No preflop pot odds available on the overlay, at least with Stars (but there are post-flop pot odds, and you can just use a calculator for the pre-flop -- if necessary).

2. Inability to determine SNG places correctly. At least in my case, but there is an excellent and cheap program called Tourney Manager that does a fantastic job of keeping track of places and winrate data.

In summary, despite having a few issues, I like PO a lot.

Best Regards,
Collin
