A preflop screwup and a nasty flop...

Full Tilt 1/2 Hold'em (5 handed) Hand History Converter Tool from FlopTurnRiver.com (Format: 2+2 Forums)

Preflop: Hero is MP with 6[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 6[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img].
UTG calls, Hero calls, 1 fold, SB completes, BB checks.

UTG is the reason I am at this table with stats of 62/12/0.8. I've seen him donk an oesd vs. my open and also with something like MP that improved to 2pr on the turn (donk again after my flop raise).

So, I misplayed pre as raising is the pretty obvious play here... (SB is LAG and BB TAG (slightly passive, though), both of which fold their blinds more than 70%)

Flop: (4 SB) 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], A[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], Q[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (4 players)
SB checks, BB checks, UTG checks, ... and am relatively lost now...

Yeah I agree with your assessment so far. I think I bet anyway, it's highly unlikely BB has anything, LAG would likely bet anything that hit this board weakly and the hands that hit it strongly likely raise preflop except Q7. UTG probably bets out if he had anything except maybe a horrible offsuit ace.

bet when checked to!

as a pure bluff and likely the last money we put in the pot

OK you bettors, what happens when we get called? I like our position, and we may have the best hand, but there are 2 more streets, and there is something called "reverse implied odds", furthermore this is a run-on sentence. Also, this could be a trap...not being weak, but LAGs like to check when they have a good hand and bet when they don't.

btw fret, i don't mind PF if we're on a loose table, in fact unless I'm pretty confident i'd get it HU if raised I've got no problems with a limp.

As played i don't think I'd even bother betting here at all, just take the free card, & fold turn UI.

there are no reverse implied odds. if we are bet in to we are folding. if we are called and checked to on the next street, we can reevaluate, but are probably checking it down

we need to ask, will a bet on the flop take this down >25% of the time?

if it will its fine... that number should actually be closer to ~21-2% too, given the fact that we arent sacrificing our equity in the hand

Re: A preflop screwup and a nasty flop...

if we consider that we are getting called by 2 big card hands, our flop->river equity sucks. factor in hands that we are behind and it sucks worse.

hmm sry im obv not being clear enough.

we are betting this flop with the belief that the other players will ALL fold > ~22%

turn and river wont matter because chances are very high that we arent putting any more money in regardless of what falls (outside of a 6 or ss)
