very easy question. lingo mixup on my part

if it says....

5/10 NL cash game. $1,000 stacks. 6 handed. You are in middle position with:

A loose aggressive player UTG raises to $40. You re-raise to $130 and he calls.

does that mean that there is 5(Sb) + 10(bb) +(40)UTGraise +130(your raise) + 130(UTGcall)

or

5(sb) +10(bb) +(30)UTGraise [because he made it a total of 40] + (90)your raise MAKING it 130, not 130 on top + (90) his call.

im not sure if when questions are worded like that if you have to subtract the BB and then the bets, because the players are making it a TOTAL of that amount to play, or if it is supposed to be interpreted as '40' or '130' on top.

please clarify,
thanks

This is correct with the modification above.

When they say raises to $40, it means "$40 total to go", so in this scenario he raised $30 (BB + $30) making it $40 to go.

The total pot here would be $275, but rake and jackpot (if there is one) will be subtracted.
