FTP Sound Problem

Hi Guys,
I e-mailed FTP tech support, with no response of course, so I figured I'd ask here. After about 1/2 hour or so of playing, I lose the sounds on Full Tilt. The other sounds on my computer work, just not the FTP program. Any ideas? I do have the latest software installed. Thanks. Paul

Does anybody have an answer to this? I've been having the same problems witrh FTP and it's really annoying.

Yup I have this problem too. BTW if I open up WinAmp and play a sound with it it sometimes fixes it (with a loud pop from all the stuck sounds starting).

Sometimes also happens on 'stars. Makes it hard to watch TV while playing, dammit.

Re: FTP Sound Problem

I'm glad I'm not the only one. I did receive a response from Full Tilt though. But I'm too lazy to go through the process of fixing it:

"Thanks for writing in, we'll do the best we can to help you get your
software running properly.

There may be a conflict between the software and the current version of
DirectX or device drivers installed on your system.

If you are using a version of Windows prior to Windows Vista, please try
updating your sound drivers. If you do use Windows Vista, please let us
know.

To update your sound drivers you will need to refer to your sound card's
manual or contact the manufacturer. When doing so, check the version
number and see if that is the most updated and proper driver for your
computer.

We are not responsible for any drivers you may download and install. So,
please check thoroughly before installing a driver and make sure to get
the most recent one.

Also, make sure you have updated the DirectX on your system to the
latest stable version after installing the sound drivers. This can be
found using the following link.

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/d...a9b6820-bfbb-4
799-9908-d418cdeac197&DisplayLang=en

These steps should fix your problem as well as improve the general state
of your computer.

If you are unsure as to which sound device you may have, or continue
having problems after the update, you can perform a "DirectX Diagnostic"
if you wish to give us some more information as to what may be causing
the problem.

You can do this by:

- Clicking Start and then select Run.
- Type "dxdiag" in the run box (without the quotes) and click enter.
- Let the progress bar in the lower left finish going across.
- When it is done, click "Save All Information".
- This will open a window asking you where to save the text file it is
creating. Choose your desktop.
- Reply to this e-mail with that file attached.

Please let us know if you need anything else, and we wish you the best
of luck on the tables!

Regards,

For me, none of my computer sounds work until I restart my computer. The "power off" sound from windows works, but no sounds (PS, FTP, winamp, AIM, etc) work until I restart. I'll try getting new drivers.
