Internet Connection Help!
 

Hey all, I set up my 2 monitors and new Dell desktop. I have a wireless linksys plug in to the USB port. It is about 30 feet and thru 4 walls from the router. The connection is always real low and i get kicked off consistently. How can I strengthen it? my gateway laptop has a built in wireless card and is in the same spot as the desktop and always has a real strong connection, please advise, thanks!

It sounds like your usb wireless card is crap. Go to the store and try out different kinds. You can always take them back if they don't work any better. In my experience USB cards never work as well as PCI cards.

Definitely sounds like your USB adapter is the problem since your laptop works fine. Just to make sure though, go to the manufacturer's site and see if there are any updated drivers. I had an old USB Netgear wireless adapter that would always disconnect, like twice a day. I went and downloaded the updated drivers and it worked perfectly after that.
