VGA Distribution amps

My laptop has only the 1 VGA connection and i'm now looking to run 2 1600x1200 dell's from it.

I recently tried the Village Tronic VTBook 32MB DDR Graphics Card using the provided DVI connection, but the performance was very bad when multitabling.

So, i'm looking for a 2-way VGA Distribution amplifier that supports this resolution.

The better one's i've seen claim there's no signal deterioration - is this the case? Any loss of quality would cause problems when looking at very small fonts with the Poker Office table overlay.

Any recommendations/pitfalls before i purchase one ?

Been looking at these:

Re: VGA Distribution amps

first off if you are using an LCD you really should be using DVI. VGA will cause loss of quality. secondly a distribution amplifier will only allow you to display the same thing on both screens.

DVI is just the monitor interface. You probably got bad performance because you computer lacked resources. For anything 2d your video card does very little work and the interface (VGA, DVI, component, etc) does not matter at all.
