Euro Qualifiers 6/2 & 6/6

As I write this, Azerbaijan has a surprise early lead at home over Poland and Serbia's up 1-0 very early away to Finland in heated group A play.

Czech Republic were held scoreless by Wales, giving Ireland hope, although they are fighting an uphill battle.

France-Ukraine, Belgium-Portugal and Denmark-Sweden are the best matches still to come.

Italy should have at least 4 points coming to them playing the Faroe Islands and Lithuania. No reason they shouldn't dominate both games for the full 6, which will put them atop Group B.

<font color="blue">FORZA ITALIA!!
FORZA AZZURRI!!

Italy won 2-1 in a sloppy game with poor finishing.

According to UEFA.com:

An investigation is to be launched after referee Herbert Fandel abandoned the UEFA EURO 2008™ Group F game between Denmark and Sweden in Copenhagen tonight.

Reports awaited
With the score level at 3-3 in the closing stages and a penalty awarded to Sweden after Christian Poulsen's dismissal, a supporter ran on to the pitch and appeared to strike the official. The result of the Group F contest will be confirmed following an investigation by the UEFA disciplinary committee upon receipt of the referee and delegate reports. Two goals from Johan Elmander and another from Petter Hansson had put Sweden 3-0 up only for Daniel Agger, Jon Dahl Tomasson and Leon Andreasen to draw the home team level.

I'm a Swedish soccerfanatic so of course I watched the game,
Sweden played smart and when the ball bounced their way + some giveaways from Danish defense they were up 3-0 after 25 min play. Denmark got one back and it was 1-3 in halftime, 2nd half was all Danish, they equalized with 15 min to go and basically every attack led to decent/good scoring opportunities.

Then the thing happen that will get much press in Europe:

Poulsen defends inside his penalty area against Marcus Rosenberg, they both give and take some in a heated but pretty normal forward/defender clash. When the ball is at midfield and the situation played out Poulsen throws a solid suckerpunch straight in Rosenberg's guts, referee don't see it but the assistant ref is flagging for attention.
Afer a few second discussion the referree runs toward the Danish penalty area, shows Poulsen the red card and awards Sweden a penalty kick.

Then a Danish supporter enter the field, and attacks the referee, he didn't land a real punch but he seemed to grab the ref around the cheek so it was at least very physical.
A few Danish players with Gravgaard in the lead defends the ref and manage to convince the hooligan to return to the stands.

Referee talks with his assistants and decides to take the teams off the field, he then proceeded to talk to the team captains and they decided to abort the game and award Sweden a 3-0 victory, UEFA has already started an investigation in the matter and no doubt the Danish soccer will get severe penalties.

Hehe the guy lives in Sweden. Guess he'll be greated with champagne and chocolate when they release him and he returns home.

Limpfold described it well.

Not a proud day for Danish football.

Israel with a good result against a tough Macedonia team. Unfortunately, Russia and Croatia won as well (of course both were virtual locks against Andorra and Estonia) with England not playing.
