10NL: JJ as an overpair

So should I have just shoved over his flop raise or is my line ok? Villain was 17/14/4 over a couple hundred hands. I figured since the flop was so dry that shoving over his raise would look too much like a set and scare him off. I checked turn so he could hang himself with his TPTK or TPGK. Thoughts?

IMO, your play is read-dependent. You thought he would hang himself with TP and he did (if that's what he had).

If you didn't think he would bet the turn, then you should probably reraise ai on the flop.

Did you come out on top?

I think a call is right on the flop because I think a shove will almost always be beaten when called.

Most villains at NL10 don't seem to understand the pot-control check-behind on the turn, so I think check-call is fine there.

I dont mind the play at all esp on such a dry board. Villains like this play TP on this board in 10nl like its the stone cold nuts because they think you are bluffing with overs. Nice hand, im going broke with this also.
