Depends on table dynamics, but I would probably make a standard raise to 1111.

I see.

Can't really say very much about the table since the final table was just put together. At least the table I came from was pretty tight and I thought to have good fold equity. Maybe.

How about just fold?

Raise or fold would be okay. Calling would only be okay if you are fairly certain it will start a limpfest.

How much should I raise?

And I assume fold to a reraise, except maybe from one of the shortstacks, right?

agaisnt an unknown table folding is fine. If your going to raise it should be about 2.5x-3x the big blind. If you raise to 3x the blind call a push from everyone except MP2 and maybe SB.

Raise depends on your table image, table standard raise, etc., is there an ante? Nothing wrong with 3xBB when in doubt.

If you are reraised, you need to look at the pot odds. If it is an all-in reraise from a short stack, this is easy. If it is a 3x reraise from a big stack with chips behind, I fold.

Ante is 25, sorry forgot to add that.

Here's how the hand went:

PokerStars No-Limit Hold'em Tourney, Big Blind is t400 (9 handed)

MP2 (t20050)
MP3 (t2815)
CO (t2570)
Button (t450)
SB (t6300)
BB (t4340)
UTG (t13895)
Hero (t12635)
MP1 (t4445)

Preflop: Hero is UTG+1 with 7[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], 7[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img].
1 fold, Hero raises to t1000, 6 folds, BB raises to t4315, Hero calls t3315.

Flop: (t8805) 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img], 3[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], J[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

Turn: (t8805) 2[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (2 players)

River: (t8805) K[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (2 players)

Final Pot: t8805

Results in white below:
BB has 3h 3d (three of a kind, threes).
Hero has 7s 7c (one pair, sevens).
Outcome: BB wins t8805.

Afterwards I thought I played this badly. Why on earth would I raise at all? I was 3rd chip-wise with a big gap to the short stacks. A raise just has the potential to put myself into trouble... I think I should have folded pf, but I'm not sure.

I make it 1200 but 1000 is fine i suppose. You got a worse hand to shove, good play.

Re: 10$/45 FT - 77 UTG+1

That doesn't make much sense. Why would folding preflop be preferable to getting a short stack all in as a 75% favorite?

Raise/call a short stack, or raise/fold to a bigger stack seem good to me here. Limping is bad because hardly anyone has enough stack to give you odds to set mine.

With short stacks getting desperate and ready to bust, plus typically weak tight play around the bubble I think folding 77 here would not be good.
