Fruit fly problem

Long story short, my girlfriend and I have developed a small fruit fly problem in our kitchen. The culprit has been eliminated but the problem remains. I quite simply want them to leave. They seemingly do not respond to English and I question whether they have any language abilities at all.

A Kuroshian conquest may work for others but not here. These bastards are obnoxious but they've done nothing to deserve death. There are maybe 3 or 4 dozen of them. What can I do? And I suppose more importantly, what consequences will I face if I do nothing?

They will persist if they have any food source. Just give them the flypaper, they'll die sooner. It's not like fruit flies live that long anyway.

They won't leave. If you don't want to crush them, make a fruit trap.

Look for any water and eliminate it. It is much easier for insects to find food than water. When you do the dishes, etc., don't let any water get left over around the back of the faucets or wherever. No standing water from soaking dishes, etc.

These guys can multiply into a really big swarm pretty quick.

Try doing both with soap.

Re: Fruit fly problem

1) Pour a few ounces of vinegar in a plastic cup
2) Add some sugar (to attract the flies) and a drop of dish soap (poisonous to flies)
3) Put saran wrap over the top of the cup
4) Put a rubber band on the wrap to hold it tight
5) Poke a few holes in the plastic
6) Bugs go in but can't come out
7) Profit?

Learn their language, blend in with their people, and mate with their women. Then in time, your differences will be forgotten.
