Newb ROI Question for WSOP

What kind of ROI would a good player expect to make in the WSOP ME this year? A great player? I've searched everywhere and have found nothing.

Thanks,
Adam

Check the Harrah's website for details, but they announced recently that the prize money for the lower payouts is going up to something like %150 ROI and the top prizes are going down.

I believe he is referring to the fact that Harrah's has flattened the payout structure somewhat this year. If they had used the new payout structure last year, the minimum payout for the ME would have been 22k instead of 15k. 80th place paid 66k last year, but under this year's formula would have paid 122k. Why he described it as ROI is a mystery to me.

I just didn't realize Harrah's announces potential ROIs on their website. Can someone look up mine in the ME please?

Re: Newb ROI Question for WSOP

If I did it correctly, you would have received $65,797.50 under this year's rules. You busted just shy of the 25th table, so you would have received .075% of the prize pool, which was $87,730,000 last year.

You can play around with the numbers yourself -- they are posted here

In general, I think that the flatter payout schedule is a good thing. It will reduce variance somewhat and it will probably cause people to tighten up even more on the bubble. Of course this will be offset by the elimination of all the online qualifiers who really, really want to make the the money.
