xbox 360 for HD DVD
Thinking about getting a xbox 360 to use as a HD DVD player? any opinions?

It's awesome and the cheapest way to get into HD. I just got Planet Earth for it, and the quality is insane! Definitely worth it in my opinion.

For the same price you could also get a PS3 w/Blu Ray. I believe Blu Ray has a bigger title selection, or at least more support for better long term title availability. Its also one piece as opposed to two.

When I said it was the cheapest way to get into HD, I thought you already had the 360. By Getting both components, it's the equivalent in price to the ps3.

I think the 360 is too loud to be a good DVD (or HD-DVD) player. If you want it for the games too, then it's definitely worth it.

I dunno. A mate borrowed my HDDVD player to see if it was worth getting, so I was left with only my 360 for a week or so. I remember noticing the noise difference by a decent margin. Not with music dvds or action movies though.
