Axs, NFD repping more.

Full Tilt Poker

Pre-flop: (7 players) Hero is MP1 with 4[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] A[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img]
UTG folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls,MP2 folds, MP3 calls, CO folds, Button raises, SB calls, BB folds, UTG+1 calls, Hero calls, MP3 calls.

Table has been very passive and sort of loose, thought I could pull off limping with several callers. Button here is ~30/13 through not very many hands, could raise lots of hands here.

Flop: 8[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 9[img]/images/graemlins/heart.gif[/img] 4[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (11 SB, 5 players)
SB checks, MP1 checks, Hero checks, MP3 checks, Button bets, SB folds, MP1 calls, Hero raises, MP3 folds, Button calls, MP1 calls.

The c/r was trying to do two things.
i) leverage relative pos of button to drag along SB and MP1 (likely MP3 folds to 2-cold), building equity in my big draw.
ii) represent a bigger (made) hand to more easily dump buttons' possible whiffed overs.

Turn: 9[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img] (8.5 BB, 3 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets, button calls, MP1 calls.

This is where I tried to get him to fold those overs. Really looks like MP1 could have a draw here.

River: 5[img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] (11.5BB, 2 players)
MP1 checks, Hero bets, button calls, MP1 calls.

I tried again, my only hope at this large pot.

I don't know why button would bet that flop with overs but probably 80% of people here would so I guess your flop/turn play is ok. I would also put MP1 on a draw on the turn. When button doesn't raise the turn I'm really happy. HU vs. button on the river I would valuebet & get called vs. A-high. Here I would check because MP1 already checked and you're beat by an 8 or 55+ almost every time he calls.

Agreed. They're not going away unless they also have busted draws, and you beat all busted draws. So there's absolutely no point in betting.

It's tough enough to bluff in micros HU, so trying to railroad two players with bottom pair is spewtastic.

I dont bet this river.
HU i bet every time but not with MP1 who has called every street. Not even the flop c/r scared him out.

Betting may be the only way to win the pot, but check-folding is the only way to stop losing money.
