Postflop looks fine to me, but I fold preflop.

I'd like to hear the reasoning here.

Calling preflop is ok.
Though I would prefer to have a read.
Your implied odds seems good.

To win the pot now, disguise our hand, fold out a better hand, buy a free card, get action on strong hands later.

If you call raises with a hand like this preflop, you should be prepared to make some moves postflop. At least some of the time. Passively chasing a flush in a HU pot isnt going to cut it in my book.

Re: Interesting sc hand

I like playing it as follows:
Raise flop, we have 2 overs to the board plus flush draw. If we get raised, we can muck it and assume villain has overpair while we only have the spade draw. If villain only calls and checks turn, we can check behind and try to hit flush. With the card the came up, I would bet the turn as a reverse blocking bet so that we get to a showdown cheap since villain will most likely check behind on the river.

As played:
fold river

I agree, you have to be very sure that you will stack villain if you hit your flush, or maybe two pair, to call those bets. By raising, you disguise your hand and get payed if you hit or you can win the pot without hitting your flush.

So, you are saying if we raise flop and villain calls we should bet this turn?
Didnt you say to take the free card?
Or are you saying that, as played, we should raise turn?
Villain cant check behind river as we are in position.

I think he is saying that the plan was to check behind a blank turn, but since the turn gives hero TP, a value bet is probably more in order. If villain's range is wider than an overpair, then betting the turn makes sense, however checking the turn might induce a bluff on a blank river and hero's hand is a well disguised bluff catcher. Either way, hero just needs to make a read and stick with it.
