He's jumping onto his sled. It's kind of like the luge, except you go down face first & the sled is smaller.

I love that it's basically olympic sledding on the cool sleds that go fast and you can turn.

Skeleton sucks, luge is much better. I would hate to be sliding down an ice tunnel at a billion MPH and all you can think about is trying not to drag your toes on the ice and keeping your feet in the right position.

Well you are going face first in Skeleton, which I think raises the stakes a bit. Other than this important fact, yes they are very similar.

Sure seems that way. I do love the fact that it seems to be this bizarre sport populated by lunatic amateurs that isn't really professionalized yet but is somehow in the olympics.
