Repping the missed flush draw w/ straight
 

Villain is good aggressive reg, probably one of you lot, 21/17/2.5. Is checking this turn ok? I wouldn't normally take this line and as a general rule hate slowplaying more than most, but i thought it might be a decent spot to check here. I just couldn't see villain calling a bet w/ an overpair here, and if he had AK/AQ/AJ i wanted to let him catch up, or bluff the river.

70-75 on the turn. u need to get some money in before the board gets more scary. imo if u dont get paid off on the turn the chances of u getting paid on the river are fairly slim. If he has a hand like an overpair he will check that turn for pot control and may go into call down mode. ur missing a tonne of value if he has a set.
Basically my point is if he has nothing [ie. overcards] u arent going to get paid off anyway unless he connects on the river, if he has a hand now ur missing value.

I don't like giving out a free card, our hand is actually quite vulnerable to many hands that will call the turn. Moreover, some hands might call the turn but possibly won't call the river, especially if the board gets even more threatening or he misses his draw etc.

these people are all exploitable jokers. this is fine some of the time. especially awesome when the 5 comes on river and he shoves you off a chop "because you can never have a ten" [img]/images/graemlins/grin.gif[/img] that happened to me once.

you think he's going to call a decent bet on the river with an overpair? i doubt it. also you want to bet now against 2 pair, set, or flush draw. giving a flush draw a chance to crai is good too.

yeah i do, he knows i am an aggressive player, and he also would never expect me to have a 10 in that spot. it's also possible if he bets river as a thin v-bet with a set and i raise that he might make a hero call, putting me on missed hearts (sure this is somewhat unlikely, but possible, he knows i bet turn with 10 99% of the time, and i would never raise the river with a 5.)

i made this play purely for deception, this is by no means standard for me obv.
