Thanks for the links. I really like watching BombSoldier play. From what I heard (don't know if this is accurate), he was a total unknown, but then he took 2nd in that huge Japanese tournament and then everyone wanted to be his fanboy. The finals vids for that tournament are all on YouTube. Just search for "Ken vs BombSoldier" or something.

Do you happen to know which tournament or how old that first video is? A few years ago, I was really into watching tourney videos, and I downloaded a few gigs worth or something. But then I haven't been keeping up lately, and it's not that fun watching outdated tactics when people are doing some new crazyass moves these days, so I need some new ones.

I don't know too much about them. I stumbled across them on youtube and linked it here. I could imagine the isaneness associated with Link beating Marth in a top-level tournament match

if you play enough matches anybody can have a good / bad game and win something they usually wont. Link just isnt a viable character in higher level play.

IMHO, it's sort of inbetween. I mean, in the end, an amazing player playing any character will be a tough match. But 1 match vid is such a small sample size. Aniki is known as a very strong player, though, and there's an American link player who can hold his own against many good players. Over the longrun, though, you just won't see link players taking many 1st's in big tournies. It'll always be the same few characters.

i remember seeing.. a really sick peach video, i dont remember who it was, but he played peach sick nasty, and played a really nasty fox too.

Here's another set of good matches. I had no idea they allowed MLG matches to be posted on YouTube. Or maybe they didn't really allow it. You used to have to pay a subscription fee for these videos.
