Do you like songs about your hometown?

I was just thinking that I'm completely partial to songs about Pittsburgh.

I also get giddy when I see people on television wearing Pittsburgh clothing. Snoop Dogg is notorious for this.

Does your home town have a special place in your heart?

416 to the 905 by Fresh Wes (aka) Maestro...

but i only like it because it's hilariously bad.

I find hearing about places I know well in rap songs to be very weird. Sometimes I'll hear them talking about places I was recently at or could even be driving through at the moment and it takes away some of the mystique. I doubt this is true with all kinds of music though.

"From the sound up in Long Island out to San Francisco Bay, and every thing that's in between them is our home. And we may have done a little bit of fighting amongst ourselves, but you outside people best leave us alone. Cause we'll all stick together and you can take that to the bank. That's the cowboys and the hippies and the rebels and the yanks. You just go and lay your head on a Pittsburgh Steeler fan and I think you're gonna finally understand."
