($3 turboPS) KK played too tight?!

Hi there

I've folded my KK

http://www.pokerhand.org/?1004865

because I was afraid of a set or a straight, even flush draw possible...

Did I play like a Pro or like a Fool?!

thx,
regards

On the flop, re-raise to about 500. There is already about 400 in the pot when the villian bet into you, and it's a very drawy board. So you're looking to get it all-in on the flop or at the very least make them pay a price to outdraw you.

You most likely folded the best hand here....especially in a $3 tournament where players are more likely to go all-in with all kinds of crap. Also, I think in a $3 tournament, most players will almost always check a very strong hand to you (like a set or a straight)....I think it would be somewhat unlikely for them to lead into the pf raiser with a very strong hand.

Also, you said you folded because you were afraid of a "flush draw". I hope that's not the case as a flush draw is a dog to your KK.

I never fold KK here, if they made a set then you get knocked out but far more often you will be seeing much worse hands and doubling up.

Good point that slow play too much issue in $3, didn't think about that before.

Well actually a straight Flush I meant, sorry ;-)

ok, next time I'll bet a proper size and go with it to the end in this limit.

thx a lot

at those low blinds i like to make it 150 or sth. like that,
with 3bb raises you won't cut down the field like you want to and they are able to draw at you with suited connectors, pps for set and stuff like that
you want money in the pot with KK and they will pay you often

My line would be 4bb to start and then make a pot sized bet when the action gets to me on the flop. What is the plan then? Get it all in if re-raised on the flop else all-in on the turn except for a scare card?

Do you guys ever fold an overpair at these limits?

no...u basically want to jam it as soon as possible.
the only time i'd ever consider folding an overpair is if like a 11/9 regular in my database opens utg 3x bb and bets out pot multiway action. other than this rare occurence no dont fold overpairs at low limits
