KK boats, river question

Villain is 24/16.7/3.3 over 168 hands. Seemingly decent player.

BB: $102.40
UTG: $55.25
Hero (CO): $49.75

Before reading results: Fold seems about right... dry board for him to call flop.

After reading results: Villian sucks.

edited: dry

i think the hand is played fine, but betting the turn can be good too, especially with history.

i can fold the river ... gotta figure it's a 9 most of the time, air once in a while. nothing else is in his range (well, quads).

i'd edit out results, no reason to post them.

edit: rakes, you should remove the last part of your post.

i call, no one is tricky enough to check a 9 3 times here.

Why can't villian have a 4? People are inspired to check three times with monsters after watching rounders. Happens in microstakes all the time.

i think checking the river is good with anything after checking the turn, but you're right that 50 nl players generally aren't this tricky.

but what's the villain calling the flop bet with oop? now that i think about it, if the villain is on some kind of elaborate bluff his line is beyond ridiculous.

edit: now that i think about it more, a 9 should be unlikely because of preflop.

whatever, calling and folding are probably pretty close in ev.

if you really think about people having quads this much, you are costing yourself money. a lot of people are trying to push you off a split here or are retarded and have TT or whatever.

Re: KK boats, river question

When playing the hand i was thinking that it was unlikely villain had either a 9 or 4 because he didnt seem like the player to call OOP with either of those in his hand (unless he has 99, but seriously, who has quads?) i figured he had some sort of mediocre pocket pair

i think tannenj is right they have to both be really close in EV, but I think its a call just because I have seen alot of people who play the board, make stupid raises like that only to show you the Ace 2 after you fold.
