Why would you recommend min b3b on the flop vs raising it to $12/$13?

Yea 3bet flop but not to $8, make it more. It looks like he could well have a hand scared of the 3 spades so you want to get as much in on the flop as possible. I'd probably just pot it instead and try to get AI on the flop.

Yeah misread it, $12 sounds better

Re: AKo heads-up with position

So I am a FL player and a NL n00b/donk. But is this not horribly played? (or am I missing something?)

On the flop you have TPTK and nut FD. Is this not a spot where we would like to play for stacks?

The turn check is completely beyond me. So you have the absolute nuts against a player who may very well have a set or 2 pair redraw to a boat and you opt to hand out free cards.

Then by the river when the board pairs and you no longer have the nuts you pot it...

So I am a n00b as stated but I would 3-bet flop to 10-12'ish. As played I can see no reason what so ever not to bet the turn.

Make it $11-$12 and I agree with you.

Re: AKo heads-up with position

I really got the impression by the action that the villain was weak and wanted to bluff me out of the pot, so I thought I might induce a bet on the river by checking it through on the turn and making me look weak/bluffable.

In no way am I confident this was the correct way to play it though, hence posting the hand.

reraise flop to around $12...
if you reraise the flop it looks like you are getting rid of draws, hence betting the turn would be a good idea....

[/ QUOTE ]I like this; how would the plan be without the K[img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]?
