NHL OT Playoff Game Memories
 

Watching the San Jose/Nashville game go into double OT reminded me of some of my favorite OT games.

First was in 1996, during the Capitals Penguins series. I was 10 years old, and I remember how big of a deal it was that my mom was letting me stay up so late on a school night. Between a penalty shot in double OT, and ridiculous goaltending from Ken Wregget and I think Jim Carey? Nedved's celebration was my main memory though. Check it out here.

Also, although i didn't see it live. The famous Isles Capitals game from 1987 was amazing too. I remember seeing highlights of this game growing up, and finally catching it on ESPN classic one day, and loving it. Kelly Hrudey ruled.

That was the first goal I thought of before even opening this thread. Here is clip of that play

Another good one was Jason Arnott's double OT stanley cup winning goal for the Devils over the Stars in 2000. Great pass from Patrick Elias on the play... another clip of that play

I remember a Blackhawks/Avalanche game from when I was about nine. I remember it going to triple OT and the Blackhawks losing. that sucked.

buffalo vs NJ 1994 I remember not going to school the next day because I stayed up all night to watch it.

Every game Anaheim played in their run a couple years ago.

Especially the triple OT vs. Detroit. I've never been so into a game.

I'm just wondering how a guy with your screen name, who also specifically mentioned 1996, doesnt talk about Game 4 of the 1996 finals when the Avs beat Florida in triple OT.

And just for fun, and to add something constructive to this thread, i'm at this second waiting for the FOURTH(4!) overtime of this Dallas/Vancouver game 1.

Jesus christ this thing wont end...i've been watching NHL games since 7pm, or 8 hours ago...!

When Sedin scored to lift the Canucks past the Stars in Game 1 of the opening round of the 2007 playoffs.

I remember watching one of those games basically all night and it ending as my roommate was getting up to go to work.

Edmonton vs Dallas, Todd Marchant in 97, but also just about every game they played against each other went to OT, so all of them.
