rakeback

I know online gambling is illegal in the US, but i was curious to know if it is illegal to run a rakeback site. Since you arent aiding in actual wire transfers I wouldnt think it would be.

I would consult a lawyer on that.

Ahhhh...no.

I believe almost every RB site operates outside the US now. As to where all of the owners live, I'm not positive...but I'm fairly sure many of them do not live in the US.

It's a big world out there, and yes, it does go beyond the US border.

Hmm interesting. I dont see why this would be necesary, not that i want to start any type of business, but it technically doesnt break any laws. Do any owners know for sure??

Re: rakeback

if you assume owning a poker room is illegal in the US, then running an affiliate business would be as well (That is if you assume the first is illegal)

It would fall under aiding and abetting (Spelling?) Anyways, you get the idea

Re: rakeback

Again, it's a big world...some of these affiliates have ALWAYS been outside the US.

I think RonMexico is right, though...if you considered poker to be illegal, being an affiliate would likely not be much better. I imagine a few affiliates moved operations "just in case", and I believe at least one sold off his operations. I'm sure it would be much more difficult for a US-based affiliate to move money around now, just like it is for players.
