How is this problem solved

(.65) (+P) + (.35) (-2/3 P)

65/100P + 35/100*(-2/3)P = P[65/100 -70/300]

Find a common denominator in the square brackets .

P[195/300 -70/300] = P[125/300]

125/300 in lowest terms is 5/12 so the above is equivalent to 5/12P .
