This topic repeated over and over gives me the opportunity to mention the uncontestable winner over and over:

MacArthur Park by Richard Harris. It is enough to peel my skin off, yet it was enormously successful and covered by other, respected artists.

A poll conducted by American columnist Dave Barry, recorded in Dave Barry's Book of Bad Songs, selected Harris's version of "MacArthur Park" as the worst song ever recorded.
