Small stakes with half blinds

When im in vegas i most often play 4/8 LHE (1/2 kill) with 1/2 blinds. Kill is 6/12 with 1/3 blinds.

I feel like i need to open up my starting hands in these games since it is so cheap to get in and see a flop, but i dont know if this is a good strategy or not. How would you approach these games?

Are you limping with a lot wider range of hands? Are you going all out maniacle preflop.

what difference should this make in how one approaches the game?

I sometimes play the half blind 4-8 games here too although I much prefer the full blind structure. I've tried playing with a wider range of limping hands, but I don't think that's the optimal strategy. I prefer to keep a tighter range of hands to play PF but to expand the raising range within that group of hands.

the only 4/8 games in Vegas i know of with 1/2 blinds are Palms and Sam's Town. where tf are you playing?

since your implied odds are effectively doubled (every hand is like being the SB!), you should be willing to limp with many more speculative hands. you have to play well postflop, though, or you're just asking for trouble as you'll find yourself in a lot more marginal situations.

I pretty much exclusively play at Sams Town, just because thats where i most often stay. (free rooms, long history with them, etc)

I also went to play at Sunset Station this past week, and they had the same setup.

I played in the only cash game going at The Sahara last thursday, and they had a 2/4 game going with only 1 2 dollar blind, no small blind.

as far as how id adjust...i think im playing way more hands preflop and having to focus a lot more on post flop play when i get in wierd situations with less than optimal holdings.

its different for sure, just curious how others saw it.
