Harrahs Kansas City ruling

I have the straddle on. 5 or 6 callers and I check my option. The dealer flops 4 cards (worst dealers anywhere). They call the floor over and rule a misdeal, everyone gets their 10 bucks back, and the sb who folded and didn't take a flop gets his two bucks back. LOL at that joke of a casino.

Well, that is obviously just plain wrong. 3 of the cards are the actual flop, and the 4th card is an exposed burn card. Dealer doesn't need to burn for the turn. Play on.

This is also the same casino that, for a short period of time, had this rule. In the event of a exposed card while dealing (the buttons card gets flipped over or what have you), instead of making that exposed card the burn card and giving the button the should of been burn, they ruled as follows. The dealer picked a random card from the middle of the deck to replace the exposed card. hmmmmmm

Unfortunately there is no way to know which of the 4 cards should have been the burn. Shuffle all 4 back in and put up a flop.

actually if the button's (or sb's or bb's) card was exposed then it was a misdeal. the replacement from the middle of the deck was if any other player's card was exposed.

and yes the dealers there on average are pretty horrible

If the dealer is doing his job halfway correctly, it is very easy. Depending on which direction he spreads the flop, it is either the first or last card on the board.

That is a very common error. If you think about some causes of 4 cards on the flop you will have a better idea of why you need to reshuffle. If that doesn't help get a deck of cards adn put them in order and figure out what order the top 4 would come off in if the delaer meant to put 3 cards out.

NIT. The dealer pulls three cards off the deck into a pile (in this case, two cards stick together or something, so the pile has 4 cards in it. It doesn't matter how it happened, the 4th card is on top of the pile, unless the dealer has pulled some kind of 3-card-monte sleight of hand. The pile is turned over, the 4th card is now on the bottom, and spread out.

NIT, it doesn't matter, even if the wrong card is chosen, it is still all random. In fact, to satisfy the nits, you could reshuffle and reflop. But either way, the ruling given is WRONG.

This is where you are wrong and why the correct ruling is to reshuffle. If the cards are in order 1-4 the first card off is 1 the next card off is 2 now he takes 2 cards off togetehr with 3 stuck on top of 4 the third card off the deck is now on top of the pile with the "correct" burn under it in the pile.

You're looking pretty bad here. RR is megaqualified to answer these questions and there are good reasons to shuffle all four back when it's not 100% sure.

See RR's most recent post.
