I found this book eye opening. I am not an overly organized person, but I keep my affairs in order to the point that I can manage them. However, I used to think I was too messy and that it was a character flaw. This book opened my eyes to our culture's increasing obsession with organization.

haven't read the book, but listened to an interview with the author on the radio. seems that he is basically arguing from the extremes, that is, equating the extreme to the norm and arguing against the "norm" on this basis. has some good points, but it's annoying and foolish when people present things in this way.

Because it's the norm it has to be right? I guess you can tell if a book is good by what it "seems" like it's about.

He's not extreme, but simply shows how there should be a balance between organization and "mess" and how people don't realize so.

I haven't read the book but am finding this thread a mess.

rothko's 1st response gives me a hint of what the book is about. Please expand a bit.

For a better idea of what it's about, click the amazon link I provided. I just wanted to share a book that I found interesting as I've gotten good book recs on here.
