How do you block pictures?

Sometimes people post picturs in the threads.

That takes too much data in my slow dial-up connection.

Is there an option to block pictures and just get the text?

Get avant browser or another non-ie browser, and just block pictures in the internet options.

Without changing my (non-ie) browser, or messing up whatever else I'm doing, how do I do it. Does 2+2 have an option. After all I clicked on `no' for `View user's pictures with their posts?' in my `Display preferences'. What I'm asking here doesn't seem that different.

That's a pity. Anyway take it as a suggestion. Is there any technical difficulty in this? Do you understand exactly what I'm suggesting? I mean it's annoying trying to read a thread, when someone has posted a 5 megabyte picture of a donkey, or a straw-man, or whatever, and while I appreciate their humor, I can manage without.

You could put that user on ignore and the picture won't show up in the thread.

Lol not computer expert aments.

Tools | internet options | Advanced tab | Multimedia section | Show pictures (uncheck)

Easy browser option since 2p2 doesn't have one.

I understand your pain, as I had dial-up until a couple of years ago.

Now, almost everyone has broadband, and so no one really sees it as a common problem, any more.

Maybe you're the one guy who would be better off using Threaded mode, as only one post would open at a time, and you could at least move on to the next post if a donkey started to reveal itself to you?

i am very spooked now. I like this option for browsing at work. thanks for the tip. Only trouble is every picture is now blocked (including avatars and even the post icons and such when replying) except for Mike Haven's avatar. What else have you done to my 'puter Mike?
