2 very basic Stud 8 3rd st ?\'s--

I ve been watching training videos and I saw soemone limp in a somewhat loose game ,2nd position with xQQ ( q showing) with an ace behind him. Is that standard for everyone?

Also 3 suited cards with 2 lo cards, 10-5-3 suited all pretty live ive seen play also in early position.

Id muck in both spots but maybe im playing 2 tight.

1. Throw it in the muck.
2. It depends on how much raising there is; if you can see 4th for just the bringin it is correct to play that but if there is a lot of raising (or you see two aces behind you) then save your money and throw it away. If there were zero cards of your suit dead I'd play it even in a more aggressive game.

Your correct to muck them in both spots. The flush draw is playable in late position when you know you will likely only have to pay one bet to see 4th street.

both are mucks in a tough game.

both are playable in a passive game.

With an ace showing? I woud raise with my QQ and check/fold if the A would re-raise or call the next bet.

Noobish question about #1. In either game why would we always assume that the A has a hidden A? Couldn't there be hidden JK or 99 or 2 suited cards to the A or even random crap that is mucked? Is MUBS (monsters under the bed syndrome) standard in stud?

even if he mucks QQ is not that strong, Big pairs suck in this game unless it is AA.

I would rather have A28 than QQx. Big pairs are only profitable in a few circumstances.

Agree with this. Also since I'm 90% sure Joe Tall played these in a deucescracked video, I thought the first one was in a shorthanded situation but can't remember for sure. The second one was super live in a proven loose passive game so clearly I think the first one is more debateable.
