BRAG: Got an internship at NASA
 

I got accepted to intern at NASA this summer for ten weeks. As of now i have applied for my top three programs of choice and i am hoping i get my top choice which is working on autonomous vehicles. I also get paid 5K for the summer and travel expenses, and will probably be living in San Diego.

I go to a small liberal arts school in maine, and it was through a maine state grant that i got in.

Wait... you're a liberal arts student, and you're going to spend your entire summer hanging out with a bunch of engineering dorks?

What kind of brag is that?

Seriously though, that's pretty cool... although I doubt it'll be nearly as stimulating and fulfilling as you imagine.

Hope you've got a nice calculator. Otherwise you're going to be the outcast.

My roomate's brother works for NASA and says it sucks hardcore. Prepare to be infuriated by the endless web of bureaucracy.

These are nice things to get into and definately look good on a resume, especially if you are going to grad school in the sciences. Don't expect a stimulating experience though. Since you can't possibly learn enough to actually contribute to a project like this in three months, you will probably be put on some mind-numbingly boring task only tangentially related to the project, just like normal internships. This is just my experience from the physics version of these.
