Texas Calculatem

Does anyone ever use this software? Is it good? Any comments?

using any type of software to calculate odds as you play is basically a waste of time/resources/etc IMO

I use a similar program, Poker Indicator. As a beginner, I find it invaluable to help me calculate pot odds, outs, percentages to make my hand, etc. Poker Indicator does not give recommendations on what your play should be, though.

It has also improved my off-line play - odds and percentages have become second nature, having seen the information from Poker Indicator so frequently.

The very least thing you can do if you're sincere about becoming a better player is to learn the odds and understand how they're derived. At the table, you have to make so many more decisions that having to look at pot odds is a huge time waster that won't let you concentrate on improving more advanced aspects of your play.

I used it the first few months I played but since then I have pretty much memorized the most important odds/% that I need to know. It's a good helper for sure at first, no shame in using it.
