Red Sox regular season wins.
 

My mom is entering an office pool with 6 other people to see who can guess the closest, WITHOUT GOING OVER, to the number of regular season wins that the Red Sox will get this season.

I first looked online to see if I could find any sportsbook that had a line up for red sox o/u wins but wasn't able to find one (didn't look very hard though). Do any of you know if one is up?

I stopped paying attention to the Red Sox (my favorite team) last year after we got swept in a regular season series by the Yankees, when we were already a few games back. I know they ended last season with 86 so that's a place to start. I haven't found out about any pick-ups they or anyone else in the division have made.

Any info on the current O/U lines and the changes to the team/divison would be great. What you would personally pick as your number of wins in the pool would be great too! Also note that the other people entering are Red Sox fans and so may overestimate.

I told her that without further research, I would say 82 is a pretty good guess. I'm not really sure though. Six opponents is enough that you'll probably need to get pretty close to the actual number of wins, but the Price is Right stipulation wants me to be very conservative.

do you get to see the others' guesses? if not, can you estimate them? your ev is significantly affected by this.

chances are one of the standard last position price is right strategies of going 1 over the highest bid or bidding 1 will be correct, assuming you can go last. i can better quantify this for you if you give me a hypothetical.

Off the cuff again. I'd assume them all to guess low to start and to think that Red Sox are ~86 win team.
