**Official 2 + 2 Fantasy Baseball Auction League Thread ***

It's about time we start one of these leagues. I don't really want to be Commish, but will be if I have to(we can offer incentives for someone to be Commish)

Let's use this thread to discuss rules, entry fee, keeper or not, etc.

This is an interesting site : http://fantasyauctioneer.com/

We could use that or maybe do the live auction over AIM(Maybe the later rounds through e-mail).

I think our ideal league would be something like : $300 dollar league with ~14 people, where you get to keep 3 players at their previous price(for x many years maybe)

Please offer suggestions!

If you want in on this league, please post ASAP, as I'm not sure how we're going to select the members(1st come 1st serve/post count/lottery)

I'm interested, I might chop a team with pudge if that's fine with you.

Still up for debate. Does anyone want to volunteer to be commish?

I tried out a mock draft at that website and didn't really like how it worked. So I guess the auction over AIM would be best, though I could imagine it would take awhile. Anyone have an opinion on how to do the draft?

I would totally be down for this. I don't think that an AIM draft would be overly tedious, especially if you limited it to 12 teams, but I can see the allure of having 14.

I tried a draft there and thought it actually went overall pretty good. There were a few times when a player was nominated and we couldn't bid on him, but the commish was able to repeat the bidding for the player so we could.

I have never done an auction before, but I didn't realize how much time they take. I think last year the draft for MEBenhoe league took 3-4 hours. This auction took about 3 hours to get through the first 180 players, or a minute per player. That can obviously be changed with shorter times allowed to nominate someone and shorter time to decide whether to bid.

What parts of the auction there did you not like? We could try out different sites as well.

Just a rules suggestion. In my baseball league, we bid on the first 20 players (starters) and then have a snake draft at the end for reserves. That might help the end go a little quicker.

Also, regarding keepers, we add $ to next years salary. In my football league, it's +$5 for year two, +$10 for year three, back in the pool for year four. In baseball, we go $5,$5,$7,$10,$10,$10...etc. and can keep a player as long as we want.
