Winrates at high stakes

I've always been curious about how much an extremely good player can make at high stakes online games such as the Stars 500/1000. What can you expect at this game? What about 200/400 or 300/600?

it depends largely on who is in the game.

Yes well certainly this can be assumed. I'm talking about long run of course, any where from 300k to a few million.

It's all dependent on game selection. If I play in any game that's running, I doubt more than .5BB/100 is sustainable. But if I game select, well, I can imagine 2BB/100 is reasonable. Then again, I'd only get in like 5K hands a month at that rate. So it's an interesting trade off.

Well you're still talking about 100K a month then. Is it reasonable to assume you high-high stakes guys are making 1 million a year?

There is one factor missing in the high stakes online game and that's an old wealthy [censored] who likes to throw away millions just for the fun of it. These guys prefer B&M casino play.

Since someone has to lose and eventually go broke, the high stakes online games are destined to dry up. If on the other hand the very same guys keep playing each other on an everday basis for months then it's clear that they are only pushing money back and forth. I wonder if it's not more profitable for these guys to rob the fish a few levels lower.

Some of the people now playing 100/200 or 200/400 will eventually win enough to move up to 300/600 or 500/1000. Some one now playing 30/60-50/100 will move up to the 1/2 and 2/4 games to take his place. The guy that went bust at 500/1000 will move down to 30/60-50/100. Barring any disastorous legal developments, these games aren't going anywhere. If anything, they'll get bigger as time goes on.

this is a very interesting topic. As mentioned above its also hard to game select at this level since there are so few games running at a time, its not like finding a good 3/6 game. 1 million is definitely attainable I would imagine.
