US Affiliates

I'm wondering if now it's "legal" to promote an online poker site as an affiliate if they only service non-US players? Also, with the DOJ now actively targeting companies such as Party Gaming, do you see Party handing over records to them such as names/addresses of US affiliates that have promoted and profited from online poker over the past few years? That would seem difficult as there literally would be tens of thousands of US citizens that participated in affilate marketing like this and it would be hard to prosecute so many like that. Is the DOJ just going after the founders and high ranking investment people?

But is it even illegal in the first place to promote a non-US poker site? You obviously aren't breaking any laws of the country where the poker site is located, and you aren't promoting to US citizens so you're not violating the new legislation.

I'd love to hear the answer to that as well. If you aren't signing up US players, don't want them, say you only get party sign ups. Is that 100% legal? Didn't a las vegas casino try to start an online site not targetting US players?

I think the answer is, noone knows.

The DOJ will find a way to make it illegal
