Wii - GameCube Compatibility

Just wanted to check.

I now know the Wii requires a GameCube memory card to save. As for the controllers, Does the Wii virtual console controller work? Or do you have to use a GameCube controller?

I tried a GameCube game and couldn't get it to work with the Virtual Controller, so I'm assuming you need a real GameCube controller, which sucks.

Whaa? You can't use a standard SecureDigital flash card that you can use with the Wii in general?

Do you mean the Classic Controller? I am hoping, but doubting, that you just tried to use the Wiimote here (which itself can be used with some but not most VC games). Wanted to pick up some Gamecube games but will be less likely to if I have to shell out for a GC controller.

I think this is true for Gamecube game saves only.

To play Gamecube games you need a gamecube controller. They can be had for 10 dollars.
