If the sun was anihilated.

If the sun was anihilated instantly into nothingness would the planets....

A) imeadiately cease following their orbital path and fly off into space?
Or
B) continue to follow their orbital path for a few momenets and then fly off into space.

It would take a while, depending on how far away the planets were. It would be 8 minutes for earth I think.

If your question is "Does the effect of gravity travel at the speed of light?" then the answer is yes. It would take some finite time for the orbital paths to be affected.
