been out of the game... anyone wanna fill me in?
 

So, I was out of the country traveling on my winnings for about six months. Just backpacking and cycling through Europe, time of my life, so and and so forth. Anyway, I'm back now and looking to get back in the game (As soon as I have a few dollars, that as). However, there's this whole internet gambling bill business that I don't really know anything about. So, i'm wondering if anyone can fill me in here as to how this affects me and what all I can do. I imagine it hasn't stopped people from playing, so what are you guys doing about it? Can anyone sum it all up for me, or post a link to something that does? Has it affected which sites are the softest at all? Have any closed down since the change? Anything else I haven't thought of that would be pertinent?

As brief as I can make it:
-See Legislation Forum's sticky post for list of rooms still accepting USA players. Some poker sites are restricting certain states. Dominant sites for USA players are now Full Tilt and PokerStars.
-Normal deposit/cashout methods still working fine. No clear indications on how this may change. The regulations of how the law is executed are not drafted and this will likely not be done for several months.

i don't like associating my real self with my online personas in a tangible and recordable way. however, I just sent bob a link to my blog which is a quite detailed account of my trip. if anyone else is interested, i'll send you a PM too.

that reminds me... how has it affected the quality of games? will I probably want to drop down a few levels and work from there?

The ratio of rocks and TAGs to fish and LAGs is greatly increased. PS and FTP are rock gardens, especially FTP.
