Beat: Girlfriend has a fiancé
 

So I've been dating this girl for almost 5 months. She's from Romania but is a US citizen now. Things are going great: good sex, good conversation, (apparent) honesty on both sdes, good times all around. She goes back to Romania to visit her family a few weeks ago.

She comes back and I find out on Christmas Day that her "fiancé" is flying in the day after Christmas. I play dumb to see what her play is. The phone hasn't rung since the day before Christmas.

Pwned.

LOL. No, it wasn't a mail order bride scam. We actually work for the same company. Different departments though, so we don't "work together". That makes it even more bizzare.....I'll see this bitch every day.

Yep, this is how I'm thinking of this situation now, although I was actually becoming pretty involved emotionally. The funny thing is that she wasn't into me spending money on her AT ALL. She insisted on no big, fancy dinners, no expensive gifts, etc. She was more of a "let's stay home and spend some time together" kind of woman who seemed TOTALLY into me, waiting on me hand and foot, cooking for me, droppinig the "L" word, etc. I was good to her also, of course. I really thought I found "the one".

Oh well.....the Romanian snatch was good at least.

Seriously, I'm really good at making people feel better. Mostly because improbably crap always happens to me. My baby-momma and gf of 4 years broke up with me when she walked into my apartment with a wedding ring on (behind her back like a 5 year old). So yeah, can say I know how it feels. At least you have the opportunity to nail her pre-wedding.

Are you sure this isn't something like a fake to make it easier for the guy to get a visa or something? Trip report when the dude actually arrives at your place, please.
