What\'s the purpose of a sex tape?
 

With all the sex tape talk going around about various celebrities, I have to kind of sit back and question.... Why does someone make a sex tape? What actually is the purpose of having one? I understand the fun of filming one, and the kind of play acting you can do and have fun with when you're being filmed, but once you're done... why keep it? Why not just erase it?

Do you bring it out at family get togethers for everyone to watch? Do you use it later to masturbate to, when you could, you know, just be [censored] the girl again instead? Do you ever go "Hey honey! Let's order in some thai food and watch that movie we made of me [censored] you doggy style over the couch while you sucked on that dildo!"

Clue me in OOT. Why do you ever KEEP a sex tape? More specifically, why in the world would a celebrity make and keep a sex tape with the possibility of it being released? I could see some exhibitionists making it for some kind of amateur distribution channels, but that's something else entirely....

Most of the time they release it on purpose for publicity. You will never convert me to believe anything else.

There's no way all these can keep surfacing on "acccident".

This doesn't explain why non-famous people makes sex tapes. I know two couples who love to film themselves. One of the couples likes to dress up in costume and film. I would say the draw is the acting and playing to the camera. But you're right, that doesn't explain why you keep it, because both have said that they rarely, if ever, watch them.

1. I guess in some rare occassions.
2. I can think of NO scenario where I want to watch my friends sex tape.
3. I don't think people go IN to making sex tapes thining they can use it for blackmail if things go bad. I could be wrong tho.
