Would you use a food delivery service?

Some of my friends just started a food delivery service in a college town in Michigan. I'm curious to get some opinions on who would use this type of service as well as what people think of prices.

$2.50 for orders under 7 dollars and $3.00 for orders over 7 dollars. You can get food from anywhere that does not already deliver and has takeout/drive through.

Well, obviously you're not going to get any orders under $7.

I'd use it only if I love the restaurant I want food from, but doesn't deliver. It really has nothing to do with your service. If there's no place I want food from, then your service will not be used.

If there are places that has killer food, no delivery, but has take out, then the service might do well. But wouldn't that just narrow it down to restaurants like TGIFriday's and such?

I've seen this service before at hotels, by the way.

Right now it looks like our biggest demand will be for Taco Bell, Bennigans and Applebee's. Our town also has Ruby Tuesdays, Red Lobster, like 9 chineese takeout places etc. Taco bell seems huge. We have one Taco bell and on bar nights, there is a 20+ car line in the drive through.

There are several of these in Los Angeles, they're all pretty hard to deal with and take like two hours to deliver the food. I would use them more often if not for these problems.

How is the service being advertised?

Right now we are just dropping fliers everywhere and I'm trying a little facebook advertising. We don't have much in the way of an advertizing budget yet, wanted to make sure things got off the ground first.
Our standard delivery time is like 20 minutes unless the restaurant is super busy.

On the fliers do you include the menus from the restaurants in the area? If not you should, more so for the Applebee's type.

We have menu's with the delivery driver, there is no way you could put the Applebee's menu on our flier. Far too big and Applebee's probably wouldn't like it.

But....listing the most popular restaurants on our next flier is a good idea.
