Atlantic City over New Years Eve Weekend

Thinking about going to AC over New Years Eve (Dec 29th to Jan 1) if I can get a room. A few questions. It has been a while since I've been to AC and never played poker in AC.

I am thinking about doing Priceline for that weekend since rooms are so expensive. What are the chances of me getting one for under $100 a night (their 4 star selections to be safe)? I'm betting if I'm able to get any, it'd be the Holiday Inn.

How long will the waits be? I'm not sure which rooms as it will depend on the hotel but probably Trop or Borg. Looking to play 6/12 or maybe the pink chip game if at the Trop.

Any other recommendations?

Casinos are already sold out/reserved for gamboolers that weekend. No chance of a 100/night that weekend outside the Holiday Inn which I am guessing is pretty ghetto but should be safe at least. You could actually book via Orbitz for $83/night. That is prolly your best bet since its close to the Trop, unless you are not boozing then I suppose you could commute from Absecon (route 30).

I think there's now enough capacity in AC that your waits shouldn't be bad no matter what. No clue about rooms.

That rate on Orbitz actually jumps to $250 once you try to book it. I'm thinking of just trying Priceline a few days before the 29th and if I can get a decently price room, I will go, otherwise, I'll wait until later. The Holiday Inn on the boardwalk (near the Trop) is quite nice, but I doubt you'll be able to get a room for <$100 that weekend.

Is it an $11 cab ride from AC to Abescon motels on RT 30 near the Garden State parkway?

I'm driving in so no need for a cab ride. Though my wife is coming with me so I like to be somewhat close so it's easier for me to take her or walk her back to the hotel room if we're not staying at the place I'm playing.

FYI - Borgata on New Year's eve $700 for the regular room.

I'll be there gambooling it up with the rest of the crowd.

I'm also guessing there is NO chance of me getting a poker rate ANYWHERE due to the holiday weekend. I guess I could try and call anyway...
