50NL 6max A4s, 3rd pair facing big bet on river.

I'm just learning NL, started with 50NL 6max. I think I played this hand pretty badly. Any criticism would be greatly appreciated.

Everybody has about $50 in front of them except SB who has $20.

UTG limps (48 VPIP, 8 PFR, .8 AF after 50 hands), UTG+1 folds, I make a pot-sized raise to 2.25 with A [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]4 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img], button cold calls (36 VPIP, 24 PFR, 2.9 AF after 60 hands), SB and BB call. Pot 11.25.

Flop 9 [img]/images/graemlins/club.gif[/img] 3 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img] 2 [img]/images/graemlins/spade.gif[/img]

SB checks, BB bets 1.50, UTG calls, I call, button calls, SB calls. still 5 players, 18.75 pot.

Turn T [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

SB checks again, BB bets $2, we all call. 5 players, 28.75 pot.

River 4 [img]/images/graemlins/diamond.gif[/img]

checked to button who bets 33.50, everyone else folds...

Very easy fold. What are you expecting him to show up with?

I dunno. A very aggressive player bet at a good sized pot where nobody showed much strength. I certainly don't think he has to have a monster here. If he had a mediocre hand, he'd probably check it. With a strong hand, I think he'd probably bet less. A bet this big doesn't figure to get called very often, if at all, since nobody really showed any strength at all throughout the hand and nobody bet on the river.

It just seemed very suspicious to me at the time. Any comments on how the rest of the hand was played?
