10/20 live: Standard line with crappy 2 pair on draw heavy board??

For this hand, I have around 12K. I bought in for 3K about 30 minutes ago and have been hit by the deck. Had 3 huge drawing hand hit so I may have a rather Laggy image. Relatively loose passive table, except for villian who play a bit tight by very well.

Villian (around 5K behind) raise UTG + 1 to 40. Loose passive girl calls. I call on the button with 3-4 diamond.

BB (new to table) calls as well.

Flop: A 3 4 (2 spades plus diamond)

BB checks, Villian bets 110. Loose passive calls. I raise to 450. BB folds, Villian Calls.

Turn: 5 diamond. I now have a gutshot straight flush draw in addition to 2 pair.

Villians checks, I bet 750.

River: J clubs. Villian checks, I check behind.

Can someone explain the river to me. Why check?

If we are putting him on an ace, doesn't he payoff a modest sized value bet there, i mean spades missed so he could look you up with a good one pair hand, no? Don't really understand what changed when J clubs hits the river.

river check is best... maybe AK calls, I doubt it though, anything else that calls has you beat, flat out, also gives opponent an opportunity to reraise and you have to fold.

I definitely agree with the river check. considering just calling the flop but maybe i could get more $$ in the pot if a blank came on the turn, but thought there were too many draws out there.

On the river, the only way I would have bet is if a K would have come. I likely would have bet about 1/2 the pot to try to get AK to lay down.

I imagine you would've bet the river if you made your boat as well.

p.s. trying to get someone to lay down top 2 for a 1/2 pot bet is not going to work
