this 50NL game worth playing?
 

Hustler has a 50 max NL w/ a rake of 3+1, and 1/2 blinds.i imagine the action is good, as it usually is at all socal games at all casinos. but is this drop just too high? im stuck in that area all day so would be entertaining, but i wanna have a chance to make something out of it. oh i must not forget their overly generous 60cent/hour comp.

the only part that sux about that is its a 25bb stack game.

That structure is total crap unless you have everyone else sitting at the table with over $300 so you can shortstack it. Give it a miss.

I sat in this game last week. Play is awful, but as soon as my bankroll is larger I think the NL100 is better. Its a 1/3 blind game.

$50 max buy-in at 1/2 blinds? eww... (unless you think donk all-in-fests are fun)

I think you all don't realize how bad the players are there (given I have only sat in this game while waiting for a $2/$5 seat). Even with this drop, this is so easily beatable.

Here is an example..(again I was planning on just donating $50 or so for fun):
I come in for free 2 before the BB..

1st hand I limp ATs, approximately 10 other limpers
I flop top 2 pair and tripple up against top pair 3 kicker, and T9s..

2nd hand I blind straddle..called by three people minraised by guy in the BB with $25 left in front of him.. I push with AJ, get called by QJ for $60 and short stack folds 77 face up.. I win unimproved.. Given lucky short session before I get me seat, but the point is, if you can't make up for that rake, you have some issues..

good to hear from someone playing it, it does sound like a donk all in fest, but i find those to be fun sometimes. im gonna hit it up this week.

ended up going last night, players are absolutely terrible, i dont see this at $5NL online. many calls for big bets by players with two pair on the board, and they hold a crappy middle pocket pair. saw JJ raised to 11 preflop, then called by 99. board hit 5s7sQd, 99 went all in JJ called.. i folded my AQ, but now i know. very very easy game, with such big pots and such dumb play, i think its still worth it despite the rake/blinds

Live players are much worse than online players. I played a 1/2 NL $100 max game the other week and play was just awful. People floating two streets with bottom pair and taking down $50 pots with 44 on a AT87Q board to name a few.


The best hand I witnessed came from a dude sporting Green Bay Packer regalia. Tight/Agg Asian girl opens for $26(all in, wtf shortsack), Brett Farve call with 8-5, and hits a 4 card flush...


I would never consider playing in a 25BB capped game...that's ludicrous. Hell, that's even absoludicrous.
