Newsworthypoker/Cake Poker spam

Anyone else get this email today? It's some affiliate spam for Cake Poker under the guise of a "poker newsletter."

If anyone got it and has the email address only registered for one or two sites, I'm curious which dirtbag is sending it out.

Thanks for the heads up, folks. I'll hit our affiliate manager with this in the AM. It's like the wild west all over again with this new US law. Some folks just don't know the game yet.

Grummin -

Affiliate code was t?=100 (link: ****.com/t?=100)

I wouldn't care about some stupid spam, but I only use this email for a few "trusted" sites and one or two affiliates, so someone is reselling email addys.

Hi Otctrader,

We are unsure where this affiliate acquires his information however he is viable affiliate that drives a lot of traffic to our site. As you can imagine, our goal is ultimately to provide an enjoyable poker environment for all players by growing our site. We encourage affiliates to help us grow our business in a productive and ethical way. We have been assured that this affiliate offers an “opt out” option so that those contacted who do not wish to be contacted again can be removed from this affiliates newsletter subscription.

If you get hit again by this, please let me know. I work hard to make sure the site speaks for itself and I don't want to have anyone tarnish that image.

Thanks Doug; in fairness, they did have the "opt out" link in the email - nonetheless, it was unsolicited and stuff like this just gives a negative second-class image to affiliate and site alike.

Realistically, I fully understand you can't micromanage the affiliates, nor do their actions always convey your intentions. Best of luck in growing traffic to your site, and props for coming on here and responding, it's much appreciated.
