October snowstorrm in Buffalo w/pics

We just got hit with a huge snowstorm...in early October.

cnn.com article

There's a good foot and a half of snow in front of my house right now. There's fallen tree branches and power lines all over the place, making most streets impassable. We're lucky to be one of very few houses in the area that actually has power right now. Something like this so early is unheard of, even for Buffalo.

Here's some pics I took earlier this morning:

This is pretty standard from what I remember after my three years in Rochester.

Your pictures didn't work in this thread (I had to copy/paste them into my browser to see them), but it looks like you should buy a new pair of shoes. You'll be the envy of everyone on the block (and not just because you have power).

This makes people who believe in global warming look really dumb. Total proof.

Rochester was cold today, but above freezing and clear blue skies. We had some rain and snow mixed last night, but nothing stuck. Buffalo winters are much worse than Rochester.

That's too bad.

It's sunny and a very pleasant 18C today in beautiful southwest British Columbia.

I'm wearing shorts and a tshirt right now.

Ahhhhhhhhh...
